Old Lakeview School

Ames Ranch c.1890

Lakeview School c.1910

Lakeview area c.1920's

Before the old Lakeview School was built in 1895, classes were held for a year and a half in an old adobe house on Los Coches Road owned by Julian Ames.

Lakeview closed in 1920, and pupils either then attended Lakeside District Schools, or El Cajon School. The school was bought by Wellington Hoover and is still used as a residence, though it has changed hands many times.
