Since the last newsletter things have been moving alone very well. Grace Parrott has been a great addition to the Archives Gang. She has been busy putting the files on disks so that we have a permanent record of everything on file at the History Center. Someday soon we hope to be able to check the computer and know exactly where something is located . . . that will take a little time to get to that position.
  We have been receiving pictures from many families which have been added to the collection of histories and family information files. If you have something or anything that we may copy or save for the future please share with us. Most of the time there is someone at the History Center on Wednesday who would love to see you and talk to you about the community, family, or just share what you remember about Lakeside.
  I am sure you have heard or read about the Santee Historical Society trying to regroup and have a viable group again. Harriet Wade saved a lot of things and our Archives have received those articles and pictures about Lakeside. They recently elected new officers and are looking for anything to share about their community or families in the Santee area. If you have any questions regarding the Santee Historical Society please check with me.
