In Loving Memory

VIOLET KEARNS WALKER, 83

Vi was born February 12, 1921, and passed away at her home in Aguanga, California, after a lengthy illness.
Violet, a brother Eddie, and two sisters, Lucille and Clara, came to Lakeside with their parents in 1932.  They finished their education at local schools.
Vi developed an interest in flying and received her pilot's license at a young age, flying in and out of San Diego County's early airfields.
Aside from flying, her interests varied.  She was a member of the Lakeside Garden Club and her "green thumb" was evident wherever she lived.  Other hobbies of hers were raising canaries and parakeets, and working with ceramics.  Vi and her husband, Fred, were members of the Lakeside Historical Society.
A few years ago they moved to Aguanga where they kept their airplane and had their own landing field.
Survivors include her husband Fred; one son Chuck Arnell of Aguanga; two daughters, Terry Rowland of Ramona, and Jo Ellen Caster of Palomar; and several grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held May 15, 2004 at 2:00 PM at her home in Aguanga.

The store hours are 10:00 to 2:00, Tuesday through Saturday.  So, if you can find the time to help-out your Historical Society, please call 561-1886.
