Betty McMillen will be awarded the prestigious "People in the Trenches" award by the Save Our Heritage Organization.  She is being honored for her relentless work in preserving our precious past. Betty will be presented the award on May 17 during a special dinner hosted at the Hotel del Coronado.
  Kathy Flanigan, an architectural historian who worked on Lakeside's Historic Survey several years ago, submitted the nomination. Betty is quoted as saying: "I am just thrilled at this announcement."  Well Betty, all of us at the Society are thrilled for you too . . . congratulations on a job well done!
