Every year the Lakeside Historical Society awards a scholarship to a deserving student from Lakeside.  Throughout the year, the Society hosts several fundraisers to help support our preservation efforts -- one of which is the upcoming annual Golf Tournament at the Willowbrook Country Club on June 28th.  From these events, money is set aside in a scholarship fund.
  This year's award was presented on June 6th at the El Capitan Senior Awards ceremony held in Meyer Hall at the Lakeside Community Center with over 200 people in attendance.  It was my honor, on behalf of all the members of the Lakeside Historical Society, to present this scholarship for $500 to Weston Hyde.  His goals are to earn a degree in Art History, then to teach at the high school level.
