Marcella Williams
CLARA KEARNS FOSTER, 85
Clara was born on November 2, 1919; and passed away November 11, 2004. She lived most of her life in Lakeside attending local schools and Grossmont High School. She married Clarence "Pinky" Foster shortly after graduation. They built a hilltop home on El Monte Road and raised their three children there. She was Lakeside Historical Society Life Member #160.
Survivors are 2 daughters: Mary Bird; Helen Garner; son: Buzz Foster; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
CHARLES M. McGUINESS
Our lives are made up of people we meet and no matter how brief their visit here they often leave a lasting impression. Such was Virginia and Charles McGuiness. They came to Lakeside January 1983 and encased themselves with Lakeside and especially the Lakeside Historical Society.
After Virginia died in 1998, her husband of 22 years returned to the east coast.
We received word recently that he had passed away. They were both life members of the Lakeside Historical Society; Virginia #260 and Charles #261.
PAULINE STOLZER
Pauline passed away December 9, 2004. She was born in Buckeye, Arizona, and grew up in Richland, Washington. She moved to San Diego in 1956 and worked in the County Welfare Department where she met her future husband Thomas. They were married in 1958.
Pauline was a homemaker until her children were raised. After retirement, they traveled, worked on genealogy, and helped to establish the San Diego River Park in Lakeside. Tom, Sr. preceeded her in death.
Pauline and Tom had four children, Cynthia Graham, Cecelia Grote, Michael and Thomas, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at First Presbyterian Church of El Cajon, and she was laid to rest at Singing Hills Memorial Park in El Cajon.
Donations may be made to the San Diego Hospice, the Arthritis Foundation, and the San Diego River Park.
EDIE LOU CATES SLUNKA
Edie passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 24, 2004. She was the daughter of Pearl and Charlie Swearengin, longtime Lakeside residents. Edie was Life Member #268 of the Lakeside Historical Society.
Her husband, Ed Slunka, writes: "She has been cremated as she wanted, and will be placed in the family burial plot in La Mirada along side the rest of her family."
