Jimmy Brown & Roger Howe

gobs of butter. Something that none of us had at home, then to top it off we would finish our meal with some ice cream. Wow! What a feast in those days, when everything else was either rationed or totally unavailable during the wartime.
It finally came together after all those years of wondering about each other.  We had a great time that evening catching up on the old days, when we were at home before dark listening to Captain Midnight, Jack Armstrong and The All American Boys and playing with our secret code rings that we received in the mail. We got so excited that we were hushed at for interfering with the evening program.
There is one other fellow that I recently discovered who was in the same pickup truck selling news papers with us and his name is Harry Lomax. Harry was a square dance caller in these parts for a number of years. He called for the Starlight Square's. Are there any more of you fellows that were riding along with us in that truck??  I  sang the song Jimmy Brown  many times as an entertainer in East County many years ago, and  I will never forget how good that roast beef,  mashed potatoes and gravy tasted to me during that time.

Blessings!
