The Lakeside Historical Society's Heritage Day Luncheon will be held this year only on Saturday, October 27^th, at the old Historical Church. We are moving the day in conjunction with the Lakeside Auto Speedway Centennial. This is going to be a first for us and a very exciting weekend. We will be serving an Italian buffet at a cost of $15.00 a plate. Reservations are necessary.
  The theme for our Heritage Day will be "Its All About Us." We are celebrating the 30^th year of the founding of the Lakeside Historical Society, highlighting milestones and members who have made this organization the wonderfully effective body it has become.
  We have several new items from the society store, which will be for sale, just in time for Christmas.
  The Lakeside Auto Speedway in Lindo Park on Sunday, October 28^th, will feature a recreation of Barney Oldfield's 1907 record breaking race at 12:00 noon. Fred Puhn is putting together the racing event around Lindo Lake using vintage antique cars which are quite rare.
Regarding the lunch, we will be mailing each member a personal letter with a green reservation card and a return envelope. Your reservation must be made before October 12^th.
  We hope that you will want to be at both of these events that are being planned.
  The best part, of course, will be seeing old friends and neighbors from our special hometown of Lakeside.
