KENNY WASHBURN, 80

Kenny passed away July 29, 2004, soon after moving back to Lakeside from Eureka, Nevada.  He was born on May 24, 1924, in Renton, Washington.
During W. W. II, Kenny served in the U. S. Marine Corps as a paratrooper.
After moving to Lakeside, he met his wife of 59 years.  Louise Vance was a waitress at the Wagon Wheel in Santee.  Kenny was a self-employed construction engineer and was a member of the V. F. W., Masons, and an active member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife Louise; sons Kenny, Gary and Danny; daughters Lynn and Carol.

guitar tuned correctly you could get pushed off the stage, told to go home and practice, then come back another time, and in no uncertain terms.
The club only lasted a couple of years, but many of us went on to improve our talents. A few of us ended up with our own bands. Howard had the renown Grand River Band, Paul (Party Paul) Pinkham still plays at Boulevard on occasion. I lost track of Al Sherwood and some of the others. I had a Dixieland Group at Woody's Pizza Palace next to Dumont's in El Cajon. A few of the Country Caravan guys are still around.
We would entertain shut-ins at Edgemore Farms in Santee, and an occasional benefit for the down and out hosted by the San Diego Hotel. We had a lot of fun crossing each others path's over the years and jamming together when we had a chance. Is there anyone out there that remembers dancing to a bunch of kids and their music on stage at the Old Bucket of Blood, er, I mean the Magnolia Cafe?

Blessings.
