for many years. Linda and Denise married and currently have children and grandchildren.
Rose married Jack Smith in 1957 and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving back to Jack's roots in Idaho. Upon retirement they bought a small resort on Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho. They lived there until Jack's death. Rose then sold the resort and moved to Spokane, Washington to be close to daughter Denise and family.
Rose, now in her 80's, wished to move back to her roots and hometown of Lakeside. Rose lived a full life and was a positive influence in many peoples' lives. She came full circle. She was almost 87 at the time of her passing.
Rose is survived by her son Lenny Philbrook of El Cajon, and daughters Leona (Philbrook) Anderson of Lakeside, Linda (Barker) and husband, Lowell Chaput, Denise (Barker) and husband, Larry Derrickson.
She was a loving grandmother and was referred to by her grandchildren as "Grandma Rose". She had 12 grandchildren: Gene, Mark, Todd & Shon Anderson, Andy, Geoff, Doug, Sarah, Aaron, Jolen, Lori, and Glen. She also is blessed with 6 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at the Alpine Cemetery on April 5, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Rose's ashes will be entombed with her mother, Flossie.
The family requests that donations be made in Rose's name to the Lakeside Historical Society Memorial Fund.
