HARRIET CLAYCOMB, 86
Harriet Claycomb was born in DeKalb, Illinois on December 2, 1914, and passed away March 25 of this year. She and her husband, Frank, moved to Lakeside from San Diego and bought two acres on Oak Creek Drive. Frank was a salesman for Pacific Wholesale Electric Company, and Harriet was Secretary for The Astronomy Department at San Diego State University. Their children attended local schools and both were supporters of the PTA's. They were long time members of the Community Presbyterian Church and Life Members of the Lakeside Historical Society. Survivors are a daughter, Donna Catterick of Lakeside; and one son, Tom of Poway; 5 grandchildren and 5 Great grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the Presbyterian Church April 14th.
CHARLES BENJAMIN CRAY, 99
Charles was born October 16, 1901 in Mississippi, but he spent most of his life in Mobile, Alabama. He has spent the last few years at his son's place in Lakeside. He loved the milder climate which allowed him more time for his hobby of gardening. He died April 19, 2001, and his body has been shipped to his beloved Mobile for burial. Survivors include Charles and Clarabell Cray of Lakeside; 2 other sons; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
