In Loving Memory

BETTY DEBURN BROWN

  Betty, formally of Lakeside, passed away December 15, 2008 at her home in Yucca Valley, CA. She lived in Lakeside from 1953 to 1978. Betty was involved in real estate. PTA. Job's Daughters, Lakeside Woman's Club, and the Lakeside Historical Society.
  She is survived by her husband Ernest Brown, daughters Kim Caldwell, Dawn Waitman and Amanda Zemke; and, son Robert DeBurn; foru grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
  A Celebration of Life was held December 20, 2008 in Yucca Valley.


HELEN "LUCILLE" (FISCHER) FAIR, 80


  Helen "Lucille" Fair passed away on December 27, 2008, after a long bout with cancer. She was born on March 9, 1928, and was a lifetime resident of Lakeside, California. Lucille was a Life Member of the Lakeside Historical Society.
  Helen "Lucille" is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Owens and her son, Robert Owens, as well as her son, David Culbertson and daughters, Nancy Cross and Pat Fischer, and sisters, Claire Winius, Louise Washburn and Mary Carter, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
  Services for Lucille were held at the El Cajon-Lakeside-Santee on January 2, 2009.

Archive Nuggets

  Once again it is newsletter time. So much has been happening since the last "Nuggets" information went to press.
  The "Archive Gang" has been growing with new volunteers. Come down on Wednesdays and volunteer with us . . . we all have a great time.
  Things that have been donated to the Archives:

· Pictures of the "Thumb Ranch" from Eileen Carender.
· Picture of the "Venoni Family" from the family
· Rodeo picture from Mike Perine
· A map of Lakeside dated 1959 produced by El Capitan PTA from the Sherman and Herzog families
· Rodeo program from Tom Isom with his mother's picture on the cover
· A gift of a picture of school students
· Pictures from Bob Conley of the oil well
