Answers To Dairy Quiz #3

1. Agusta Vanoni Logan who is 97 years young was the oldest dairy family member in attendance at "Dairy Daze." She is the granddaughter of Julius and Josephine Vanoni. Their first dairy was located in Dexter and the second dairy next to El Monte Park. Part of their land which was coverd with magnificent oaks was donated to San Diego County to expand El Monte Park.
2. Bill Broersma of the Bill Broersma Dairy that is now the Lakeside Preserve on Los Coches and Ha Hanna traveled from Minden, Nevada. You will enjoy viewing the beautiful foundations of the dairy barn, milking barn and the water tank still on the property.
3. Sam Walker of the Fred Walker Dairy and the Bevan Walker Dairy is currently teaching Agriculture at El Capitan High School. Melanie Hartung Stanley of the Fritz and Betty Hartung Ranch is teaching Agriculture at San Jacinto High School. Dennis Digenan retired this year after 30 years teaching Agriculture in the Elco, Nevada area schools where he was named "Nevada Teacher of the Year." Every year but one his students qualified to go to the nationals and very often were the first place winners. Trisha Digenan is currently teaching Agriculture at Tierra Del Sol Middle School in Lakeside.

  This has been a very busy time for the Historical Archivists. The group has become larger in size so more is accomplished.
   
Have you checked out the display case in the "Dining Hall" aka "Social Hall"? There are new displays of some of the things that have been donated to show everyone about past history. 
   
With the help of Chuck Brack pictures are being framed for future displays and special projects are being prepared for all to see. The Archives has received pictures and articles to help increase more history for sharing.
   
Thank you to Chris and Leon Herzog, Edna Kouns, Eileen Carender, and the Bracks for their recent addition to the Archives.
