Expand Reach of Your eScrip Support
Cindy Collins, Lakeside River Park Conservancy
Lakeside's River Park Conservancy would like to thank Vons for their commitment to environmental education for youths and for helping with the restoration of the San Diego River in Lakeside. In the last six years Vons has contributed over $95,000 through the eScrip fundraising program to the River Park…that is over $13,000 a year and over $1,100 a month for the River Park! The River Park would also like to thank the over 2,000 River Park supporters who have signed up for the eScrip program with their Vons Club card.
"Thanks to Vons, the eScrip program, and the folks who have signed up we have been able to develop an educational 'Ranger Program' that was implemented in The Summit School and in the advanced placement environmental class at El Capitan High School."
Now you can use eScrip to register additional credit/debit cards for donations from other merchant partners. eScrip doesn't sell, rent or trade any confidential information and they have a perfect track record with VeriSign and with all of the participating merchants.
It's free and simple to do and the benefits are enormous to the River Park. Just go to www.escrip.com, click on "sign-up" and follow the easy instructions. Be sure to choose Lakeside's River Park Conservancy for your organization, group number 9920827.
The goal is to increase supporters to over 3,000 by 2008 to continue and expand upon the environmental education programs. For any questions regarding these programs and others, please contact the River Park at (619) 443-4770.

Your Bonnets Needed!
The third grade students and scout troops enjoy visiting Living History Day sponsored by your Lakeside Museum and they especially love wearing the bonnets when doing the wash on the old scrub boards. The boys and girls step back in time when they don the bonnets and learn why there is a ruffle in the back. We need a few more bonnets, if you have one that is not in use please drop it off at the History Center. Also we have had requests for patterns to make a bonnet, if you have a pattern please share it with us.
