Sponsors Wanted

The Lakeside Western Days Breakfast hosted by the Historical Society will be coming up on Saturday, April 22. We are looking for members to help sponsor the event.
Hilliker's Ranch Fresh Eggs will provide the eggs for the breakfast. Janis and Gordon Shackelford will sponsor the Sausage gravy.

The remaining items needing sponsorships are:

Hams: $60.00
Biscuits: $40.00
Potato Patties: $25.00
Orange Juice: $18.00

Have you been to the History Center lately? If you haven't there are a few things that you need to see. On display now is the new "Hand Made" Quilt made by the Women's Club of Lakeside for the Opportunity Drawing for the "Heritage Day and Hometown Reunion". The drawing will be held in October.
Something new has been added for this years "Heritage Day" activity , an Opportunity Drawing for the "Old Belt Buckle" that was sold during the 100^th year Lakeside activities.

Hee Haw - 42^nd Lakeside Rodeo Saddles Up April 21 - 23

Deservedly or not, Lakeside gets saddled with a cowpoke reputation of dusty trucks, cowboy boots and horses. So it makes perfect sense that this East County community each year holds a well-regarded, honest-to-goodness rodeo. And this year marks the 42^nd anniversary of the Lakeside Rodeo, with bucking broncos, snorting bulls, calf roping, rodeo clowns and rodeo queens. And you know what? It really is a pretty cool thing to experience, even for city slickers.
