Something New At The Store
Edna Kouns

You will find a new style writing pen in our LHS store. It is a pen that lessens wrist strain, gripping, calluses, hand cramps, and pain from arthritic fingers but is small to carry and more comfortable to use -- taking the pain out of writing.
Try one of our Penagains donated to the Lakeside Historical Society in memory of their grandfather, recently deceased Life Member of LHS Joe Pignatelli, by the designer and distributor Pacific Writing Instruments -- Bobby and Roberta Pignatelli Ronsse. Many thanks from all of us.

Walking Tour Of Sherman Heights
Betty McMillen

Those of you who attended the May meeting got to hear guest speaker, Louise Torigo tell about the old Victorian houses in Sherman Heights.  She had some wonderful slides that showed the history of that area and the many Victorian homes that had been restored.
We are planning to go on a walking tour of that area.  The tours are held on the fourth Sunday of each month and are free.  We haven't actually set the date yet, but if you think you are interested in attending please call Betty McMillen at 443-1133 and she will make sure you get notified about the actual date.  Some of you already signed up at the last general meeting.
We will be meeting at the Olde Community Church, home to the Historical Society and carpool or share rides or caravan.  In case you wonder where Sherman Heights is, it is located overlooking downtown San Diego -- Highway 94 cuts right through Sherman Heights.

A Special Gift
Elaine Brack

A special gift was given to the Society from the Woman's Club of Lakeside at the June Regular Meeting. The ladies planned and put together a quilt top to be used for the drawing on Heritage Day in October. The quilt is being completed by Judy Puhn Hooper and will be on display very soon in the Store of the Society.
Chances will be: $1 each or 6 for $5. Stop by LHS Store or the Lakeside Museum soon to purchase your tickets.
Thank you ladies for your wonderful gift!
