Marcella Williams

PEARL IRENE MARKLE, 82


  Born in Seattle, Irene passed away on December 4, 2003, in Lakeside where she had lived for several years.  She was a member, and a willing volunteer, of the Lakeside Historical Society.  Irene was also a member of the Military Widows Association.
  Survivors include daughters Becky Parker of Arizona, Gerry Tamplin of Lakeside; son William Markle of Lakeside; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
  Graveside services were held December 10, at Alpine Cemetery.  Arrangements made through the Neptune Society.


LEATHA MAE SHACKELFORD, 83

  Leatha of Lakeside passed away on December 26, 2003.  She was born in Niles, Michigan.
  She is survived by her husband Gordon, and son Gordon, Jr., a Life Member of the Lakeside Historical Society.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Shackelford family.
  No services were planned.  Arrangements: Simple Tribute.


MARY WOLIN, 101


  Mary was born in Oregon May 24, 1902, and moved to California in her youth.  She became a member of the Woman's Club of Lakeside.  Mary enrolled as a Life Member of the Lakeside Historical Society during its early organization.  She also belonged to the Rebecca Club.
  Mary died December 12, 2003 in El Cajon.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Wolin, and one daughter Jean Walker.  A brother, Ted Jenkins of San Diego; a son, Willard Haines of Alabama; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two great-great grandchildren survive her.
  Services were held December 19 at Greenwood Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Lakeside Historical Society, 9906 Maine Avenue, Lakeside, CA 92040.
